Warriors Strike Early, Hold On for Win

The Fairview boys soccer team picked up a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Vermilion on Saturday afternoon at Daley Stadium. The win improves the Warriors’ record to 4-3-3 on the season.

Fairview struck early in the first half as Luke Moravcik found the back of the net to put the Warriors on top. Later in the half, Aiden Hughes extended the lead with a goal of his own, giving Fairview a 2-0 advantage at the break.

The Warriors kept up the pressure with 16 total shots, led by Logan Melda, Kyle Farkas, and Moravcik, who each tallied three. Goalkeeper Isaac Lundenberger anchored the defense with three saves, allowing just one Vermilion goal.
