Warriors Rally for Road Win Over Cuyahoga Heights

The Fairview Warriors (5-2) overcame a slow start and a two-score deficit to defeat Cuyahoga Heights (4-2) 30-13 on the road Friday night in a key CVC Metro matchup.j

Despite running just 37 plays to the Red Wolves’ 65, Fairview’s efficiency proved the difference, outgaining Cuyahoga Heights 269-264 in total yardage.

After falling behind 13-0 early—following a long opening drive and a recovered onside kick—Fairview responded with a one-yard touchdown run from quarterback Burke Lowry to cut into the deficit. The defenses took over in the second quarter, sending the game to halftime with Cuyahoga Heights holding a 13-7 lead.

The second half belonged to the Warriors. LaMarcus Clark sparked the comeback with a 69-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the third quarter to give Fairview its first lead. Clark found the end zone again on the next possession, finishing with 139 rushing yards and two scores on 13 carries.

The defense sealed the win late in the game when Savijan Harris stripped the ball from a Cuyahoga Heights receiver and sprinted 90 yards for a touchdown, putting the game out of reach. Harris also added three catches for 42 yards on offense.

Lowry completed 10 of 13 passes for 114 yards and added a rushing touchdown, while Danny O’Neil led the defense with six tackles and a sack. The Warriors’ defense also came up clutch on fourth down, holding the Red Wolves to just 2-of-6 conversions.
